Redesigns, replatforms and domain moves

Site migration audit

After a migration, every old URL should reach its new home in one permanent redirect. Paste your old URLs and we'll follow each one, then show you which are broken, bounce to the home page, use temporary redirects or chain through several hops.

What we check

Every old URL, followed to where it ends up

Broken old URLs

Old URLs that now return a 404 or 500 lose their rankings and backlinks. Each needs a redirect.

Redirects to the home page

Search engines treat these as soft 404s. We list every deep URL that's been sent to the home page.

Temporary redirects

302s and 307s tell search engines the move isn't permanent. Migrations need 301s or 308s.

Redirect chains

Old URL → interim URL → new URL. Each extra hop slows visitors and wastes crawl budget.

Noindex destinations

A redirect that lands on a noindex page can't pass on the old page's rankings.

A redirect map

The full report includes a CSV of every old URL, where it lands and what to fix, ready for your developer.

Good to know

Where do I get my old URLs?

Your old sitemap (if you saved it or it's still online), an export from Google Search Console's Pages or Performance report, or your analytics' top landing pages. The pages with the most traffic and backlinks matter most.

When should I run it?

Right after the new site goes live, and again a few days later. Until the switch, your old URLs still work, so there's nothing to test yet. Paid audits can be re-checked within 30 days at 50% off, with a list of what you've fixed since.

Can the old URLs be on a different domain?

Yes. Paste the old domain's URLs and we'll follow the redirects to wherever they lead, including your new domain. All the old URLs need to be on one site; run a separate audit for each old domain.
